In other words, "nice to meet you, Florencia…and…wow." Her final aria closes the show. Alvarez (in the title role), has three arias, the first of which is the longest and most difficult introductory aria in memory. She soars throughout, but especially at the end, when she makes a most magical transformation." - Pat Launer, Times of San Diego "Alvarez’s soprano is rich, full and supple, with stratospheric top-notes. Alvarez made us abundantly aware of why the public was in awe of her towering talents." - James Sohre, Opera Today The rich, pulsing tone was absolutely even throughout the wide-ranging part, and her alluring vocal presence anchored the performance with a poised, polished musical presence. Her pliable spinto soprano easily encompassed every demand of three wide-ranging arias. In the title role, Elaine Alvarez made a stunning impression. "The music making was superlative, starting with the vocals. Alvarez is vocally convincing, even in the high register.” - Barbara Röder, “The Cuban American soprano Elaine Alvarez portrays the heartrending, suffering Ethiopian king's daughter Aida, who is torn between her love for her fatherland and her love for the enemy Radamès.It is an impossible love, a silent suffering of fate, which Verdi demands from his Aida with enormous emotional outbursts. She proved to be a passionate expert on duality, light and shadow, leaving all over the stage the incessant contradictions of the amorous feelings she faced.” - Deashelle, “The highly demanding interpretation of Aida's acrobatic score starred Elaine Alvarez, who fully engaged, embodied the main character's theatrical complexities with dramatic balance and breathtaking lyricism. A bit shy at the beginning, she affirms herself scene by scene, emerging in Act III and above all in the duet with Amonasro, where she shows off an ample expressive range.” - Jean-Marc Onkelinx, L’Opera Magazine “The Cuban-American soprano, Elaine Alvarez, frequently seen on the stage of the Opera in Liege, demonstrates her exceptional vocal power and embodies Aida with a rare intensity. I was too young to really understand the profound emotions this show communicated, yet somehow I felt them, and after that, I knew I wanted to be an opera singer. I was 14 when I saw La Bohème for the first time and I cried. When I was 6, she began taking me to the opera in Miami. She noticed early on that I seemed to love it, so she started teaching me music. When I was born, she was getting her Master’s Degree and had classical music playing constantly. In occasion of these two important role debuts we had the great pleasure to interview Elaine about her career and her upcoming projects. In these past weeks she debuted the role of Aida at Royal Opera de Wallonie in Liège, where she will sing next month her first belcanto role, Anna Bolena. “O PATRIA MIA…”: INTERVIEW WITH ELAINE ALVAREZĮlaine Alvarez is one of the rising star of today’s opera world, acclaimed for her portraits of Puccini and Early Verdi heroines.

When someone responds to a topic that refers to the same or similar problem, then this is not "another topic". It only makes support harder." I say this: This is the most unhelpful response. In response to the Avast Ueberevangelist named Bob, who said "Please don't start another topic. Did the same with de-activating the hardened mode, first on Avast Tried also to have various Avast Shields disabled, to see whether one of these is the culprit. I of course do not know whether that's the problem, but I have tried to have the initial loading of Malwarebytes delayed by 15 or 30 seconds. For years these two products seemed to co-exist peacefully. I have used Avast for years, both alone, and concurrently with Malwarebytes Premium. I was going to re-install, but if doing all you did was not helping you, then I don't know. after 15 years of using Avast, I am unwilling to move on unless I absolutely must. If anyone has a working solution to this I would dearly love to hear it. I have read multiple threads and tried multiple solutions and still have no remedy. Nor is Behavior Shield the trigger as Avast shut down once while Behavior Shield was disabled and again after I uninstalled the component. I cannot correlate auto-update definitions as a trigger to the shut down as at least 5 (out of the past 30) shut-downs was NOT incidental to a definitions update. And in my specific case, Avast itself (boot scan and regular scan), Malwarebytes and Trend-Micro Housecall all report a clean machine. This is totally unacceptable behavior, widely reported on this and other forums, on a variety of OS from XP to Windows 10, dating back for months. I do wish these two "solutions" would stop being offered up as a fix for the "UI Failed to Load" problem when the issue goes deeper. FYI: repair does not fix the problem and neither does a clean install (using avastclear in safe mode and manually removing any leftover avast/awil folders), reinstalling most current program version, or even an older version which had previously worked flawlessly. Red "x" on tray icon, "You Are Not Protected" message on hover then opening interface to see the "UI Failed to Load" message. The real problem is Avast shutting down for no apparent reason multiple times in the course of a day. Of course, that implies this whole PR-through-theater business works out, but he’s going to try and be optimist about this, and patience if Shakespeare’s most likely rolling in his grave. Overall, it one of the best tools to capture scrolling screenshots on Windows.ĭownload ShareX: Free 4. It offers a wide array of features that can be a little daunting to novice users, but is fairly simple to operate once you get the hang of it. Like some of the other apps in this category, ShareX also lets you edit screenshots (scrolling or otherwise) in third-party apps. ShareX is a feature-filled alternative to PicPick and Snagit, with numerous features to edit, annotate, save and upload your screenshot. As you can see, the scrolling screenshot visible in the image below is of the Beebom homepage as of 4PM on June 1st, 2021. You will now get a whole host of options about what to do with the screenshot, including annotate, copy, print and upload.Select ‘ Upload/save depending on after capture settings‘. Finally, you will get a dialog to save it locally or upload it to the cloud. You need not worry about the second window, though. This is important, because the first window will otherwise come in the way of your screenshot. Note: Minimize the original ShareX window before hitting ‘Start Capture’ on the second window. The target window will start scrolling automatically to capture the scrolling screenshot. Hit ‘ Start Capture‘ on the second window. Once you do that, you’ll see a new ShareX window pop-up with more options. Next, move the mouse cursor and click on the target window to select it for the scrolling screenshot. Now in the slide-out Capture menu, select ‘ Scrolling Capture‘. With the target website in the background, click on ‘ Capture‘ in the top-left corner of the ShareX window.
This page gives an introduction to using the command-line interface terminal, from now on abbreviated to the terminal. That is faster and more powerful, but requires finding out what the commands are." The traditional Unix environment is a CLI (command line interface), where you type commands to tell the computer what to do. If I am already selecting one file/folder, then shift+f10 does not open the floating window that has Open in Terminal option, but it opens another floating window that is specifically related to the file/folder I have selected. UPDATE I: I just noticed one limitation of this approach while using the above-mentioned approach. I have to say I came across this by accident while pressing some keys on my keyboard. Shift+f10 then two up arrow keystroke and enter When we are in a folder and want to open the terminal at the same place, then the following keystroke brings the terminal up in the current directory This is the closest I could get to open terminal in the current working directory using just the keyboard (it has a bit more keystroke but might be useful also) For example, in windows I could use alt+d and then write cmd, and the terminal would open in the current directory. I have recently moved to Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS and had the exact issue of not being able to open the terminal on the current directory. With this example, also Ctrl+ F10 E will work to open a terminal here. Make sure python3-nautilus is installed: sudo apt install python3-nautilus Next to allowing for a single shortcut key, it allows you to substitute a terminal of your choice, if you wish. Still, assigning a nautilus specific shortcut using the extension works.Ī good way to implement a direct shortcut key is to replace the default extension by a nautilus python extension, nautilus-open-any-terminal. That behavior also breaks the use of the Python extension described below to a large extent. Ctrl+ F10 E now opens the folder menu of the bar (⁞) instead of the right-click context menu.
